2010, November, Nordic Poultry Conference in Tromsø, NorwayBenedicte Lund from NordGen Farm Animals was invited to give a presentation at the annual Nordic Poultry Conference ( please see the program here ). The presentation was about the genetic foundation for modern poultry breeding globally, and the need for genetic diversity. 2010, September, Workshop and Exhibition in LithauenBenedicte Lund from NordGen Farm Animals was invited to give a presentation about the utilization of local farm animal breeds in the development of niche products (see also below, same topic in Crete). 2009, December, NordGens seminar "Genetic Resources in Protected Areas" , Röstånga, SwedenNordGen's emphasis on engaging in environmental issues was the base when the cross sectorial seminar was held. NordGen hosted a side-event where practical examples on how to implement the Global Plan of Action in a country's national program was presented. Swedish and Danish national coordinators presented their work.
2009, September 30. "Develop products based on breed"The best way to conserve our farm animal breeds is by making sustainable use of them, preferably by developing profitable products with added values and well told stories behind the products. How can we meet the practical, economical as well as the political challenges to support such a development? NordGen invited to a seminar with focus on these issues.
