Options for forest regeneration

NordGen Forest's conference "Options for Forest Regeneration – Spruce, Pine and Broadleaved Trees", took place in Finland 5-6 September 2012. It was arranged in cooperation with Metla and Evira.

The conference addressed topics concerning direct seeding of pine, storm damages and regeneration, spruce breeding, and potentials and problems connected to regeneration of broadleaved species.

The excursion around Hämeenlinna gave the participants an opportunity to see and discuss methods and problems connected with practical regeneration of hardwoods, and the establishment and use of hardwood seed orchards.
