PotatoAt present the potato collection consists of 64 unique varieties, breeding clones and landraces (local strains). Descriptions and images of each of the accessions can be found in our database in the menu to the right of this page. Sheets with detailed descriptions of some of the most popular potatoes can also be downloaded from the menu to the right. Potatoes can be ordered from February 1 to March 31. To order potato germplasm, down-load the 'Ordering potato document' (to the right), and send it or mail it to us. We only send a few tubers, although priority is given to breeding, research and demonstration, we also distribute to private persons. If you have any further questions, please contact Lena Ansebo. The NordGen potatoes are virus free and produced according to EU plant health requirements. For Norway the regulations make it difficult for us to send potato but Norsk Genressurssenter can be contacted and might help out as they have most of the Norwegian landraces and cultivars. There can be no distribution to a third party without a signed sMTA agreement, and also there is no distribution to third parties without adherence to the national seed potato regulations. We store potato both as tubers and in-vitro and have started to work on cryo preservation for safety duplication.
