Working group - Cattle

  • The working group shall provide a common Nordic function by sharing information and net of contacts. And in doing so, promote the Nordic perspective in obtaining long term sustainability and conservation of genetic resources.

  • The working group members shall secure close contact and cooperation with their own national Genetic Resource Committees and other relevant national organisations. The committees are responsible for appointing the working group members, as representatives from each country.
  • Each working group shall work as an active internal and inter-Nordic network. Exchange of information within the group forms the basic function of the groups in addition to regular meetings.
  • The working group should emphasize giving ideas to new Nordic projects and investigations conserning their species.
  • The working group has their yearly budget. Every representative is responsible for executing the work of the group and thereby contribute to securing the synergy effects from Nordic cooperation on farm animal genetic resources.
