The centre is now urging for efforts to be made to ensure future use and development of the four national breeds. Particularly the Doele horse and
the Nordland/Lyngs horse have as few as 150 offspring per year. The two other breeds, the Fjord horse and the Norwegian trotter have larger populations, but even here we observe a decreasing number of born foals.
