Thematic daysNordGen Forest thematic days are usually organized twice a year. Current topics are discussed with the help of invited speakers. Hosting of the events circulates between the Nordic countries. The thematic day about regeneration quality in forests took place in Kringler guesthouse by Gardermoen in Norway on 5 March 2013. 65 participants from nurseries, forest owners associations, research and management, as well as some Nordic guests had made the trip to take part in the discussions. The thematic day "Tree seed sources and supplies for Iceland – current situation and future alternatives" took place in Hveragerði, Iceland, 6th of November 2012. Among the topics were current and future seed sources for afforestation, the application of tree breeding programs, the possible impacts of climate change and seed bank issues.
