- NordGen Farm Animals
  NordGen Farm Animals is a service and knowledge center working to conserve and promote a sustainable management of the diversity of animal genetic resources found in the Nordic region.
- NordGen Forest
  NordGen Forest is a meeting place that brings together researchers, breeders, managers and others who work within the forest sector with the aim to enable better cooperation and promote genetic diversity in the Nordic forests.
- NordGen Plants
  NordGen Plants is responsible for the Nordic seed collection and operates within several different projects aiming at securing the genetic diversity among our crops.
- Seed and Potato Requests
  Each year, NordGen distributes more than 10 000 seed samples to researchers, plant breeders and other stakeholders. Hobby growers can also order seed samples.
- The Nordic Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for Pre-breeding
  NordGen is the secretariat for the Nordic PPP-collaboration where public and private stakeholders join forces to develop the Nordic agriculture.
- Svalbard Global Seed Vault
  Svalbard Global Seed Vault is the largest backup facility for the world's crop diversity. NordGen is responsible for the seed handling in the Seed Vault.

Successful grazing conference

NordGen in collaboration with the Soil Conservation Service of Iceland arranged a 3-day multi-disciplinary conference on grazing in a changing Nordic region, September 12-15 in Reykjavik, Iceland. The conference gathered together 98 participants from 17 different countries. The focus of the conference was on the contribution of grazing to climate change adaptation, food security, biodiversity and environmental issues, regional livelihoods, and other ecosystem services.

During the first day four invited speakers set the scene by introducing the main themes of the conference. During the afternoon’s field trip participants were able to see both sustainably managed and overgrazed landscapes. The second day of the conference offered a total of 24 contributing talks and 13 posters in four sessions: Grazing – Contribution to food security, Linking sustainability with support policies, Grazing – History and Future and Grazing, environment and climate – friends or foes? Each session was followed by lively session-wise discussion. Main conclusions of each session were forwarded by the rapporteurs to the common discussion session of the conference’s last day.

Conference Summary and Policy Brief provide a summary of the conference and the main recommendations obtained from the presentations and discussions held during the scientific program.
