Welcome to the opening of the De Badande Wännerna's (DBW) botanical and cultural garden in Visby, Gotland, on 13 May.
The opening includes a travelling exhibition on cultivated diversity and garden plants, as well as a guided tour of the clone archive's plants led by the garden's staff.
Work to collect older garden plants for preservation in the gene banks is ongoing. Currently, the project For the cultivated diversity of the future: Rethinking the long-term preservation of cultivated plants and their history is underway on Gotland, where interesting plant material is being sought.
The event is organised by DBW, together with The Swedish National Gene Bank and NordGen, which have produced the exhibition.
Free admission.
